My work explores the experiences and hardships people faced while walking the Partition of India in 1947. I have four interviewees who recall their accounts of what the situation was of walking from Pakistan to India. My subjects were all young children so it allows for me as well other viewers to understand how difficult and dangerous the whole situation was. So much that even as children, they were able to vividly remember what they were thinking and what they saw.

This project has a very special meaning to me for it being very special to me is that the Partition itself greatly affected my community back in India. The aftermath of the Partition had a number of consequences, one of them being the state of Punjab was divided in half. My family is from the state, and the division has left as a half an identity. People are still angry about the separation of the state because it also made it difficult for families to see each other. The consequences of the Partition were so great, they are even felt today as the relationship between Pakistan and India deteriorates.
